Meet Missouri Tattoo Artist Kristyann Ruiz (crucifixxtattoo)

Based in Warsaw, Missouri, Kristyann is the co-owner of The Carried Flame Tattoo Studio and works alongside her husband Rich and their toddler the manager. Kristyann specializes in illustrative dark work with a love for heavy contrast, creepy details, emotional storytelling, and artwork that makes you feel something. 

She's not the world's greatest small talker at first, but get her going into deep conversations, weird life theories, paranormal rabbit holes, or trauma lore and suddenly the appointment is now a podcast.

Her goal is to always create custom tattoos that feel personal, intentional, one-of-a-kind,  all while keeping the experience comfortable and genuine. Expect dark humor, honest conversations, and someone who probably says "that's insane" at least five times a session.

She does not take cover ups and focuses on original illustrative dark work but doesn't mind other styles as well. She is very comfortable letting you know what she can and cannot do so you won't leave with anything she learned as you were sitting there. Whether its eerie, emotional, feminine, gothic, or beautifully sacred, she's here for it!
